ACX Pacific Northwest, Inc.

Founded in 1978 by Michael Gombos and his sons, John M. and Michael Jr., ACX Pacific Northwest, Inc. is a leader in the United States forage and roughage export industry. According to statistics from the Journal of Commerce, ACX is one of the top U.S. exporters for each of the last 20 years. ACX has maintained this top performance through a commitment to customer service and innovation in all markets.

ACX processing facilities are strategically located in prime hay-growing regions of the Western U.S. near the major seaports of Seattle, Tacoma, Los Angeles, and Long Beach. Our Pacific Northwest (PNW) facility is located in Ellensburg, Washington. Our Pacific Midwest (PMW) facility is located in Wasco, California. Our Pacific Southwest (PSW) facility where most out-of-state hay is processed is located in Wilmington, California. ACX Corporate Headquarters is located in Bakersfield, California and provides administrative, accounting, marketing, and strategic logistical support to each business unit.

ACX supplies a complete range of forage and roughage products from the major U.S. supply areas. Operations and acquisition personnel ensure quality products at value pricing, delivered according to individual customer requirements. ACX’s industry-leading processing and storage facilities, transportation operations, and strong presence in strategic growing areas, provides secure and dependable supply in every product category and quality range. ACX is committed to providing the right quality at the right price every time.

ACX specializes in Premium Dairy Alfalfa, Timothy Hay, Sudan Grass, Oat Hay, and various other grass hays and straws. These forage products are acquired under contract, through partnerships, and on a spot basis from growers in California, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, and New Mexico. Supplying products from the world's premier farming regions enables ACX to assure customers the finest in quality and stable supply.

All forage and roughage products acquired by ACX are protected by being covered on all sides or stored in barns to ensure sustained export quality. As each order is placed, the hay is compressed into high density bales: double compressed full bales; double compressed half-cut bales (30 kg); or MACX-Bales (450kg); and shipped in ocean going containers to Middle East destinations such as UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan and Asian destinations such as Japan, Korea, and China.

ACX has established many competitive advantages in the animal feed export market. The ACX forage procurement system, transportation system, and storage and processing facilities are unparalleled in the agriculture industry. This gives ACX a high level of geographic diversity and strength while reducing such risks associated with climate and weather changes, water supply interruptions, or quarantines to ensure a consistent, steady, long-term supply of products.

ACX is widely recognized as the leading innovator in the U.S. agricultural export industry. ACX was the first to introduce 30kg double compressed half-cut bales. ACX patented the methods for container loading and unloading with UNI-PACX™ and PULL-A-PACX™. ACX introduced TRUE-SWEET™ Sudan grass, a higher consumption sudangrass variety. ACX introduced the industry’s first customer oriented website with such features as LogistACX and Purchase Opportunity Pictures. These and other innovations reflect an ongoing commitment to research & development designed to meet the complex needs of each customer.

ACX has maintained this strong presence in the industry for three generations ~ for generations to come, we expect to see additional growth, innovation, and market development.
